On April 21, 2023, the "Metaverse and Remote Sensing Applications" salon, part of the "Enterprise Tour Series," was successfully held in Beijing. The event was organized by the Metaverse and Geospatial Information Working Committee of the China Geospatial Industry Association, co-organized by the Beijing Digital Creative Industry Association, and hosted by Aerospace Hongtu Information Technology Co., Ltd. Wang Jue, the director and chairman of the Metaverse and Geospatial Information Working Committee of the China Geospatial Industry Association, as well as chairman and CEO of Brilliant, and Liu Huian, the dean of Aerospace Hongtu Research Institute, attended the meeting and delivered speeches.

Senior Vice President Wang Tao of Aerospace Hongtu delivered a keynote speech titled "AI City Metaverse Technology and Applications." In his presentation, he discussed the construction and deployment planning of China's remote sensing satellite observation and monitoring systems. He mentioned that remote sensing satellites are providing abundant and vast data for applications such as national land resource surveys, natural disaster monitoring, crop yield estimation, environmental protection, and smart cities. With the rapid development of computer technologies like big data, virtual reality, and artificial intelligence, Metaverse technologies and applications are becoming new industry hotspots. Currently, Aerospace Hongtu has initiated work in areas such as 3D实景, digital humans, remote sensing interpretation, and digital twins, exploring various applications that combine remote sensing with the Metaverse.
Chief Engineer Liu Yuming of the Comprehensive Solutions Department at Aerospace Hongtu gave a keynote speech titled "Overall Introduction to Aerospace Hongtu and Remote Sensing Application Solutions." He introduced the development overview of Aerospace Hongtu, including the company's "Nüwa Constellation" layout, UAV business layout, the PIE series of core software products, and the application of space-air-ground integrated remote sensing monitoring in natural resources, ecological environment, emergency management, agriculture, forestry, and water conservancy fields. He stated that in the future, Aerospace Hongtu will continue to delve into the field of remote sensing applications and make continuous contributions to the development of China's civilian satellite sector.
Technical Director Wang Xuefeng of Brilliant delivered a keynote speech on "Digital Twins and the Metaverse." He stated that the commonality between digital twins and the Metaverse is that they are both based on digital technology to simulate and visualize the physical world, allowing for interaction. The difference lies in the focus of digital twins, which leans more towards dynamic data and artificial intelligence analysis in factory production, transportation, and city management, to further simulate and analyze in order to assist managers in making precise decisions. Currently, in terms of industry applications, Brilliant has launched new infrastructure digital platforms such as digital twin airports, digital twin water conservancy, digital twin energy, and digital twin ports based on its independently developed digital twin operating system BLinkOS. Brilliant is committed to becoming a professional new infrastructure provider for the Metaverse.
Vice General Manager He Xiaodi of Liufen Technology delivered a keynote speech titled "Metaverse Era: The Application of High-Precision Positioning in Intelligent Driving." She mentioned that the country is currently promoting the practical application of the Beidou navigation system, and high-precision positioning is achieved with the support of Beidou satellites. High-precision positioning services have now been applied across various fields, including intelligent driving, shared mobility, precision agriculture, surveying and mapping, smart cities, and mass applications. Liufen Technology has already implemented a large number of projects in the fields of passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, and the internet.
Founder and General Manager Zhang Jinyu of Virtual Reality Technology delivered a keynote speech titled "The End of the Metaverse is the Starry Sea." She expressed that while the hot topic in the tech industry has shifted from the Metaverse to AI, the two are not contradictory; advancements in AI can propel the development of the industrial Metaverse. Firstly, large models possess generality, scalability, and multimodality. Secondly, as a tool of the AI era, ChatGPT is comparable to the steam engine of the industrial age; its emergence can help bridge the Metaverse and the real universe, facilitating the transition from carbon-based to silicon-based civilization. Lastly, Zhang emphasized that we should embrace AI, using it to build the foundation of digital civilization for the benefit of the common destiny of humanity.
