"Integration of the Digital and Physical Worlds: Foresight into the Future — Digital Twin Empowering the Innovative Development

On July 19, 2023, the "Integration of the Digital and Physical Worlds: Foresight into the Future — Digital Twin Empowering the Innovative Development of Smart Rail Transit" seminar was successfully held at the Tangshan Research Institute of Beijing Jiaotong University in Tangshan, Hebei. The event was jointly organized by the High-Speed Railway Network Management Engineering Research Center of the Ministry of Education, the Tangshan Research Institute of Beijing Jiaotong University, Beijing Boneng Technology Co., Ltd., the Software Evaluation Laboratory of Beijing Jiaotong University, and the project team of the National Key R&D Program "R&D and Application Demonstration of Integrated Technology for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Services Based on Artificial Intelligence."

Professor Tan Zhenhui, former president of Beijing Jiaotong University, Sun Yuanyun, former deputy director of the Science and Information Technology Department of China State Railway Group Co., Ltd., Wang Dayong, dean of the Tangshan Research Institute of Beijing Jiaotong University, Professor Liu Feng, director of the High-Speed Railway Network Management Engineering Research Center of the Ministry of Education, Wang Jue, chairman of Beijing Brilliant Technology Co., Ltd., and Tian Xiaoniu, consultant for key research and development projects in modern service industry, along with representatives from China Railway Design Corporation, Beijing All-Railway Communication Signal Research and Design Group Co., Ltd., CRRC Tangshan Locomotive Co., Ltd., Beijing North Information Science and Technology Co., Ltd., China Unicom Tangshan Company, Scientific Chinese Magazine, and the Department of Information Management at the School of Economics and Management of Beijing Jiaotong University attended the seminar. The meeting was chaired by Professor Liu Feng, director of the High-Speed Railway Network Management Engineering Research Center of the Ministry of Education.

Leaders' Speeches

Wang Dayong, Dean of the Tangshan Research Institute of Beijing Jiaotong University, delivered a welcome speech. Wang Jue, Director of the Metaverse and Geospatial Information Committee of the China Geospatial Information Industry Association and Chairman and President of Beijing Brilliant Technology Co., Ltd., gave a keynote speech. He emphasized that digital twins can be applied to various subfields of the rail transit industry, throughout the entire lifecycle including design, construction, operation, and maintenance, thereby achieving cost reduction and efficiency enhancement, and effectively promoting industry transformation and development. He expressed hope that through this event, exchanges and learning could be strengthened, cooperation deepened, and the technological achievements of digital twins in the rail transit industry could be implemented and practically applied. Together, they aim to contribute to the innovative development of rail transit, provide new momentum for the construction of a powerful transportation nation, and promote new industrial development.

Unveiling Ceremony

During the seminar, an unveiling ceremony was held for the "Rail Transit Digital Twin Intelligent Application Innovation Base," which was jointly established by Beijing Jiaotong University and Beijing Brilliant Technology Co., Ltd. Principal Technical Committee Member of the High-Speed Railway Network Management Engineering Research Center, President Tan Zhenhui, and President Wang Jue of Boneng Technology jointly unveiled the plaque for the "Rail Transit Digital Twin Intelligent Application Innovation Base." Director Gao Bo introduced the basic situation and development vision of the base. The base will focus on rail transit, integrate the advantages of Beijing Jiaotong University and Boneng Technology in rail transit and digital twin fields, promote strong cooperation between both parties, and carry out cooperation in scientific research, technology transfer, and talent cultivation.
