Publish Time:2024-12-27

The "35th China Simulation Conference" was successfully held in Hefei, Anhui, on October 14-15, 2023. Themed "Digital Economy and Simulation Development," the event was jointly organized by the People's Government of Anhui Province and the China Simulation Federation, and co-hosted by the Department of Science and Technology of Anhui Province and the People's Government of Hefei City. The conference invited numerous academicians, experts, corporate leaders, industrial fund managers, and industrial park investment attraction heads from the field to attend. The aim was to build a simulation ecosystem platform that facilitates interaction among various stakeholders, including industry, academia, research, capital, and government. Through multiple avenues such as simulation academic conferences, industry exhibitions, simulation competitions, government-enterprise matchmaking, technology promotion, and project roadshows, the conference aimed to boost the development of simulation technology.

Brilliant Co., Ltd., in collaboration with China Mobile Communications Group Design Institute Co., Ltd. and the Institute of Computing Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, jointly exhibited at the event, showcasing their independently developed digital twin operating system BLinkOS and digital twin solutions targeting various fields.

Digital Twin and Simulation Technology

Digital twin and simulation technology are two closely related concepts that often integrate and support each other in practice.

A digital twin refers to the technology that represents a physical entity (such as a product, device, process, or system) in a digital form through mathematical modeling, sensor data, and real-time analysis. It is a virtual representation of the entity that can operate the same processes and behaviors in the real world. Digital twins allow for monitoring, diagnosing, predicting, and optimizing entities, and support decision-making and problem-solving.

Simulation technology, on the other hand, refers to the use of computer simulations and models to replicate and reproduce the behavior and processes of actual systems. It can be used for research, training, testing, and optimizing systems, as well as evaluating the effects of various scenarios and strategies. Simulation technology can model based on physical principles, statistical data, or rules to conduct various experiments and analyses.

Using simulation technology to build digital twin scenarios can help us better understand and analyze the behavior of physical objects or systems and support decision-making, optimize design, and predict future situations. Here are some steps to build digital twin scenarios using simulation technology:

1. Data Collection: Gather data related to the object or system being modeled in the real world, including sensor data, experimental data, measurement data, etc. These data will serve as the foundation for modeling and simulation.

2. Modeling: Use the collected data to model with modeling tools or software. The purpose of modeling is to create a virtual duplicate of the object or system based on real data and accurately simulate its behavior and performance.

3. Parameter Calibration: Calibrate the parameters used in the modeling process with actual data to ensure that the model accurately reflects real situations. This involves adjusting the model's parameters to align with actual measurement results.

4. Simulation Verification: Verify the accuracy and reliability of the model by running simulation models. Simulations can simulate different conditions, scenarios, and changes to test the model's response and behavior, further improving and optimizing the model.

5. Scenario Construction: Build digital twin scenarios as needed. This can include integrating the model with other systems or objects, creating virtual environments, and simulating actual operating conditions.

6. Data Synchronization: Synchronize real-time data with digital twin scenarios to ensure that the digital twin remains consistent with the state of the real world. This can be achieved through sensors, data acquisition systems, and real-time communication connected to the physical world.

7. Monitoring and Analysis: Utilize digital twin scenarios for real-time monitoring and analysis of the status, performance, and behavior of physical objects or systems. This helps us better understand the operation of objects or systems and take timely measures for optimization and improvement.

By leveraging simulation technology to build digital twin scenarios, we can better understand and analyze physical objects or systems, optimize their performance, reduce costs and risks, and support decision-making and design optimization.

Application Case

Brilliant Co., Ltd., through continuous exploration in the fields of digitalization and informatization, has been integrating simulation technology with digital twin technology to empower the transformation and upgrading of various industries. Relying on its independently developed digital twin operating system BLinkOS, the company has created solutions for smart airports, smart highways, and smart water conservancy, covering the core technologies and products in operations, services, safety, and management.

Digital Twin Highway Solution

Brilliant has leveraged its self-developed digital twin operating system BLinkOS, combined with years of technical accumulation and experience, to create a digital twin highway solution. This solution is supported by technologies such as digital twin, GIS, BIM, 5G, big data, cloud computing, IoT, AI, and vehicle-road collaboration, aiming to develop modern integrated smart highway services and promote the synchronous delivery of transportation physical entities and digital models.

The solution integrates various front-end devices and information on vehicle location, passage, road conditions, etc., empowering smart passage, comprehensive traffic information perception, traffic risk command and dispatch, all-round and all-weather monitoring of traffic infrastructure, and digital dynamic inspection in multiple scenarios. It covers the core technologies and products in all aspects of highway informatization planning, construction, management, and services.

Managers have transformed from relying solely on video monitoring for operations and management to a comprehensive operation and supervision under the twin platform, which includes the operational status of various facilities and equipment, real-time traffic conditions, and prediction and simulation of various events. This significantly enhances the level of operation and management of highways, achieving visibility, manageability, and controllability.
