Brilliat Empowers the Intelligent Construction of Airports, Aiding Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport in Creating a Digital Airport Benchmark

Publish Time:2025-01-06

Recently, the Guangdong Provincial State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission officially issued the "Compilation of Typical Cases of the Three-Year Action for State-owned Enterprise Reform in Guangdong Province." Among them, 12 state-owned enterprises in Shenzhen with 13 cases were selected. Shenzhen Airport Group's two cases, "Driving the Construction of a Pioneering and Demonstrative Smart Airport with Digital Transformation" and "Implementing the 'Outstanding Party Building' Management Model to Forge a Red Engine that Boosts High-quality Airport Development," were successfully selected. This makes Shenzhen Airport Group the only state-owned enterprise in Shenzhen with two reform cases selected, fully demonstrating the effectiveness achieved by the airport group in the solid implementation of the three-year action for state-owned enterprise reform.

As one of the contractors for the construction of Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport's smart airport, Beijing Brilliant Technology Co., Ltd. has contributed to the construction of Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport's smart airport.

Brilliant has created the foundational service capabilities for Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport's smart airport, including a geographic information sharing service platform, airside operation management, high-precision map services, unified location services, and simulation services. These core functions enable the digital twin airport to operate in sync with the physical airport in a virtual environment; they facilitate real-time tracking of aircraft, vehicles, and people; and they allow for live viewing of security videos. These capabilities provide a unified digital foundation for various systems, including the data center system, airport decision-making system, intelligent security system, passenger service system, and vehicle management system. This meets the requirements for joint prevention and control in airport management and provides strong technical support for the operation and management of the airport.

Geographic Information Sharing Service Platform, Creating an Airport "Single Map" Visualization Management

The Brilliant  Airport Geographic Information Sharing Service Platform provides two-dimensional and three-dimensional map services for the business platform of Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport. The two-dimensional map services include tile services, feature services, and satellite image services, while the three-dimensional map services include lightweight 3D services and holographic 3D cloud rendering services. Through unified map API calls, it offers a unified GIS map service and secondary development interfaces for various application systems, meeting the GIS map invocation needs of Shenzhen Airport's application systems. It can support the data usage of systems such as the airport's wireless apron dispatch system, intelligent security control system, smart flight display system, and airline resource personnel monitoring and dispatch platform.

Intelligent Airside Operation Management, Ensuring Information Sharing and Collaboration

The Brilliant  Airside Operation Management Platform focuses on the intelligent management of flight area operations at Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport, covering flight area operation monitoring, pavement management, vehicle management, lighting management, apron management, bird hazard management, and emergency management. Based on the digital twin flight area visualization service platform, the platform integrates these business functions to create a comprehensive flight area management platform. It constructs a flight area central nervous system based on management models and business processes, and displays the entire airside operational situation and manages various business operations on a unified visualization platform. This enhances the level of flight area operation supervision and strengthens the safety of flight area operations. It also assists flight area business managers in dispatching and decision-making, providing technical support for the orderly management of the airport's flight area. In addition, the system can interface with information integration systems, geographic information systems, air traffic control automation systems, and other external systems to access data such as flight information and gate allocation information, thereby achieving an intuitive perception of the airport's airside operational situation and enabling informatized and automated management of aircraft operations.

Brilliant Digital Twin Technology Aids in Creating the Future of Smart Twin Airports

In the creation of digital twin airports, Brilliant has utilized airport BIM models along with GIS, panoramic video, and other technologies to transform two-dimensional data into three-dimensional data. This enables comprehensive modeling of the entire airport, both above and below ground, as well as various spatial representations of flight area equipment and facilities. By integrating diverse point data and analytical data, Boen establishes a mapping between the physical and digital worlds of the airport. Additionally, 3D rendering technology is used to dynamically display airport information, presenting key information such as operational indicators, support processes, and overall operational trends in graphical and visual formats. This data-driven approach to airport operational decision-making enhances the management and service level of the airport. In the future, the digital twin airport platform can be extended to the entire Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport, achieving digital twin visualization management for the whole airport.

In recent years, the civil aviation information technology department has been advocating the concept and practice of "smart airports" in airport construction. This concept has been fully integrated into the construction of Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport, with "safety, greenness, intelligence, and culture" at its core. Relying on technological progress, reform and innovation, and collaborative sharing, the airport aims to optimize the entire process, all elements, and every aspect to achieve strong safety operation guarantees, refined and intelligent production management, convenient and efficient passenger travel, and a green and harmonious ecological environment. The goal is to fully reflect the requirements of high-quality development in the new era and strive to create a new peak of "smart airports" in China.

In the future, the digital twin visualization platform developed based on Brilliant digital twin operating system BLinkOS will be applied to more sub-fields of new infrastructure industries. It will facilitate information interconnectivity between smart industry clusters and promote digital upgrades in various fields under the wave of new infrastructure development.
