On July 26, 2022, the 8th National Conference on Virtual Geographic Environment, hosted by the Virtual Geographic Environment Professional Committee of the China National Committee of the International Digital Earth Society, was held in Ganzhou. The purpose of this conference is to provide an academic exchange and cooperation platform for virtual geographic environment workers, highlight academic significance, focus on basic theoretical issues and research methods of virtual geographic environments, summarize and showcase the latest achievements in virtual geographic environment research in China in recent years, and actively promote the development of basic theories, technical methods, and applications in the field of virtual geographic environments.
Beijing Boneng Technology Co., Ltd. has many years of technical accumulation and business practice experience in the field of virtual geographic environment. As an invited unit, Mr. Wang Xuefeng, Technical Director of Brilliant Co., Ltd., shared his speech on the theme of "Digital Twin Airport Aircraft Traffic Simulation" online.
At the meeting, Mr. Wang Xuefeng stated that there may be some inefficiency issues arising from unreasonable rules during the actual operation of the airport. For example, during the process of aircraft entering and leaving the port, issues such as long waiting times for takeoff or bridge landings, increased delay rates, poor passenger experience, and increased workload for control personnel may arise due to crowded taxiways, special vehicle operations, and construction in the flight area, thereby affecting the operational efficiency of the airport.
Brilliant Corporation utilizes digital twin technology and airport digital twin models to parameterize the operational environment (such as aircraft, vehicles, people, equipment, etc.) and operational status information (such as flight flow, passenger flow, operational rules, resource scheduling, etc.) of the airport, establishing a highly realistic and experimentally verifiable digital twin airport platform. The digital twin airport platform has twin visualization capabilities, data perception capabilities, and simulation algorithm capabilities. It can discover, optimize, and virtually verify problems during flight operations, thereby guiding and improving airport operating rules and enhancing the actual operational efficiency of the airport.
The Brilliant Digital Twin Airport platform integrates aircraft location, route information, airspace maps, weather information, personnel location, vehicle location, vehicle basic information, flight dynamics information, real-time video, regional control and other information. Based on their respective business rules, the platform uniformly displays and monitors the integrated visualization of air and ground, achieving a high degree of centralization of multiple types of information.
The Brilliant Digital Twin Airport Platform will automatically generate flight operation simulation verification reports based on configuration operation rules and conditions, using simulation and deduction algorithms as technical means. It will predict resource scheduling conflicts and rules that affect operational efficiency in advance, making it easier for airport management personnel to make targeted adjustments related to operational optimization in advance. By combining historical operational location data, business data, and other types of data, the platform can achieve a full scenario twin review of key businesses such as flight support, flight area operations, and terminal operations, and identify problems in the airport operation process.
